Helping to rebuild my Dewalt 18 V Batteries?
I need to know if someone has inserted the battery to accommodate the 18 volt Dewalt Cordless Drill. I have 3 of them that need rebuilding and I would do it myself.
Hello, containers are made of what is called 'batteries C Mini '. This is a smaller battery that has a tab c welding both positive and negative terminals of 1.2 volts. They are soldered in series to achieve the 18 volts your tool. I used the Radio Shack and they are ok. If you are rebuilding the tool is web sites with the batteries much cheaper than RS. You can test each battery with a volt meter, ohm, but if we go to all this trouble to just replace all in the package. However, it is almost always more expensive to do it this way just bought a new package. If maximum performance is not a concern at all the evidence only individual batteries and welding in a replacement. Hope this helps.
