I am replacing the part of the hitch ball of a travel trailer …..?

What can I use to cut the front off so I can put the new \ w on? I was thinking about using a "chop saw" That looks like a circular saw with a grinding just to cut, but someone said I should go with a metal cutting blade on a saw recipricating. You could use a second opinion. please let me be more specific. I am not replacing the ball in the bumper or hitch receiver. So is the difference between a metal cutting blade and a sheet mill. What could be better used for this. Language is a language U-shaped solid metal maybe 1 / 4 to 1 / 2 inch thick.

Without seeing the way they are ride is a bit difficult to give an exact answer. I had to replace a pull on one of my trailer not long ago. I went with the one that took the most of my other trailers ball. What I ended up using was my 4 1 / 2 "grinder with a cutting wheel on it. Small enough to work, but still had the power to work. Corté all the solder, then ground down after he was out of the trailer hitch. Originally tried a Dremel tool but do not have the able to work and broke the wheels. Using a saw all (recipricating vi) you will probably get the thing, but outside its still going to have to deal with the welds old. Here, where the mill using small works well.
