table saw induction motor?
I'm trying to build a old craftsman table saw model 103.23823 I found in my barn. It seems more about 30 years old. The engine is 1 1 / 2 HP GE induction motor. The old cable fell into the engine so I put another lamp cord. When plugged the engine buzzing, but then turn the mains burst. I like to get this engine work do you have any idea or think that this motor is just shot? Thanks for their time in front effortlessly.Wow Yes it by hand that have not been able to find anywhere on the internet that even mentions this model so you can receive advice from someone with her. They have an older than that. A 1-1/2hp will be costly to replace. worth a couple of things and trying to fix a "$ 25 The motor is drawing too much current for "lampcord" and pop the switch, even if no load on it. (belt off) and turn freely by hand. would check the bearings and lubricants sticky sheet also if you can get a total of 20 spinal amp.power W / molded plug or "cord motor" w / a separate 3-pin HD. Check motor nameplate amperage and stick to 6 'feet or less total length including cable running from the motor switch and cable supply. There can be "smoked" possibly a lower extension cord …. almost dead. If you started capacitor (bump on the side) cover age can be dried and can be substituted w / a modern equivalent. Me? betting actions, Chap. do one thing at a time to resolve if not seen as the engine cooked. shift cable, a capacitor, new brushes, oil bearings clean inside / w clean tuner could Pull the rotor off and clean any rust good. If no luck …… engine shop to rebuild credit or to one of their refurbished models. Sears also may have rebuilts. Even so more cheaply than most $ 100 for a new one. Best regards
