How much profit margin diamond jewelry stores?
I am looking to buy one carat diamonds … 76 colorless, ideal cut close, Princess cut, no visible violations … I want to save the settings is billing me $ 4,400 for the rock … Ive seen similar rocks in other stores as low as $ 3500 so I take it there is some markup on diamonds. im buying the store settings seem to be willing to bargain on price, so I'm wondering if anyone here in the field of jewelry could tell how much of marks on diamonds / what they pay for them, so I have an idea of how low I can try to get them to go
I'm pretty sure it's a huge amount. I just bought an engagement ring for less than a month … 1.11 ct, without color, excellent cut, SI1 (GIA certified) for the center diamond. The platinum band had almost another ct, so basically a ring 2CT. The store listed at $ 15,500. When all was said and done, was able to haggle 50% off the price! Good luck friend! And shop around – please take your time and you will find exactly what you want!
