Feed Wood
Where I can buy duck feed?

I'm getting two new baby ducklings in the week and says that border line for food duck feed but where do u buy it. take account of the duck are the wood duck and will only be a few weeks old. bread is not good for ducks. Also I know they eat insects and plants was lookin for a feed Protien for them. I found my answer in another question here. the best place to go is the source store tractor.

Go to a grocery store or Agway Tractor Supply Store. There is no special food for baby ducks. Also food for winter, and laying (eggs) food. adult ducks usually recover with cracked corn in the summer

Wood pellet stoves compared to maize: the choice may be out of your hands

The most popular alternatives for whole house or supplemental heating are corn and wood pellet fueled stoves. These devices are easy to operate and the initial capital outlay is significantly less than solar energy, wind or geothermal systems.

A fundamental question to ask before starting to evaluate the merits of pellet stoves versus corn should be: "What fuel, corn pellets or wood, is the most readily available in my place and therefore cheaper to burn?

For example, in maize Massachusetts fuel is virtually nonexistent. The closest Agway store I contacted (02.03.1906) was only eleven, 50 pound bags in stock at a price of $ 9 each or $ 360 per ton.

Over the course of a heating season in New England, a heater will consume 3 tons fuel. If you compare this to $ 260 per ton of wood pellets a well-stocked supplier of Connecticut, the wood pellet stove becomes your only option.

Similarly, if you live in Iowa, why buy a wood pellet stove?

In some regions, like Wisconsin and Minnesota, usually there is a lot of wood pellets and corn. The obvious benefit is the ability to switch between fuels when one of them becomes scarce.

A perfect example is this year's wood pellet shortage. Do you think that the owners of Wisconsin pellet stove had to think very hard about where to get corn when the supply of wood pellets ran low?

However, Nancy Koval, owner of the timber store in Watervliet, New York, warns that when corn is burned in a wood pellet stove works best using a 50/50 mixture of wood pellets and corn.

The problem is clinker. When corn is burned leaves behind a substance from the sugars it contains that when cooled is very hard and stays in the burner. The clinker should be wiped off the stove. Some corn stoves Special designed to automatically clear clinkers, Koval said.

wood pellet and corn stoves have many common features. They are comparatively price of around $ 2,000 for a unit large enough to heat 1200-1500 square feet, and share an efficiency of about 80%. Corn and pellet Wood also produce an equal amount of heat per pound of fuel.

Please Note: Since most house layouts do not allow the free movement air through the house, a centrally located kitchen does not heat the whole house. If your home does not have an open floor plan, size the stove to heat the room where the stove.

Both types of stoves require electricity to run fans, controls, and the auger that feeds corn or wood pellets from the stove firebox. In normal use, they consume about 100 kilowatt-hours (kWh), or about $ 9 U.S. dollars in electricity month. Unless the stove has a backup power source, loss of power results in no heat and possibly some smoke in the house.

In addition to periodic ash disposal, both corn and wood pellet stoves have an annual maintenance regime to be followed to ensure your stove continues to operate as efficiently as the day you bought it.

The storage of maize, unlike wood pellets, can be problematic. Owners of corn burning systems who store corn inside their homes need to use safe storage containers, clean up spills immediately corn, and avoid storing corn for long periods of time to avoid problems with rodents and stored grain insects.

A third option to consider is a multi-fuel stove. Usually they are advertised as corn stoves that also burn wood pellets or vice versa.

The # 1 selling multiple Sources for the kitchens is the Dansons Group Cheap Charlie Model HCCC2GD corn stove that also burns wood pellets.
