Do I really need a table saw to build this?
I want to build this project (http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Tetris-DVD-or-book-shelf/) but do not have a table saw. Can I have edges of 90 degrees and only use a miter saw (which I have)? So … if there is a compound miter saw I could do this project without a table saw …
Unless the saw is a compound miter saw, you will not be able to make cuts across the widest parts. This translates into the need to cut twice to make a single cut, and lead to uneven cuts. For example, I saw my Miter is complex and can only make 6 "cuts. For an angle of 45 degrees on a 1 "X 6" length of cut is 8.5 ".
