Routers are used to cut decorative shapes, to cut grooves and laminates. A router is a high-speed tool that uses the power bit to carry out a comprehensive variety of tasks of cutting and shaping. There are two types of routers available standard router and router step. They are very versatile and important tools to have in your Foundation drag workshop shed.
The standard router is easier to use when mounted on a router table and is good for working the edges.
The router has a fall spring base that allows the position just above the workpiece and dump it at an exact point. The fall is particularly router suitable for cutting the mortise and frieze.
Routers operate at high speeds from 800 to 30,000 rpm revolutions per minute and vary in size from 1 / 3 hp to 3 hp. Most routers available today have variable speed motors and have five or six speeds to choose from. For purposes general routing a 1 1 / 3 hp router is recommended. A conveniently located on / off, a clear plastic chip guard and a built in light work are other features to look for.
Keep the router is a relatively easy task. You want to make sure if the tool comes equipped with an accessory vacuum that the hole is clear of cards that will prevent a vacuum to do their "work. - A laminate trimmer cuts a little edge finish installing plastic laminate.
- A little short straight slot square, flat bottom and is used to make wood joints and routing freehand.
- A little round mottled background is used for carving cutting decorative freehand letters.
There are number of quality manufacturers of routers. Routers and bits can be purchased at any store or tool store type of hardware that sells tools.
