How can I refinish a good piece of furniture?
This is a mahogany chest of drawers with cat's claw scratches on both sides. It is a good and semi-antique piece. I think we need sanded and stained? Any expert advice would be appreciated advantage. Thank you!
To Refinish, first strip stripper … I like a brand called Kleen Strip, once emptied, lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper, then run a semi wet sponge with water on it to open the grain, is now ready for the stain, the stain Once you let it dry for a day, then add a coat of sanding sealer you, sand, once it is dry lightly with 150 grit sandpaper, then use a tack cloth to clean the sanding dust, now coat with varnish or polyurethane whenever you Whish used, give two hands, leaving a day between coats and sand lightly with sandpaper and tack cloth between the220 contractor topcoats.painting which has hundreds of articles furniture varnishing.
