I have a Craftsman Saber Saw 50 years with a rod and screws to hold the sheet?
The blade is attached by slipping a hole in the pole the clamp and then screwing in the screw and lock washer to secure it. The threads of the range to receive the bolt and the sheet must be used to retighten very often. Support appears to be easily replaced by removing two pins that attach it to shield the main shaft. My model is 315.26750 Craftsman Auto Scroller Saw and newer versions have great closing parenthesis. I do not know if they are compatible with mine. Sears website, it only leads to the front of the whole looked like a spare part. RETAP If support bolt, then probably have to increase the diameter and therefore has to each new sheet ream size before use. Not a pleasant prospect. The mountain is still very powerful and useful. Does anyone have a recommended solution?
I will certainly call the Sears / Craftsman service center. Sorry I have not the number for you, but I'm sure you could find on their website. I know the new material might not be as good as his faithful 50 I saw, but could even offer a good deal, because he remains in racing and is a simple scuff due to manufacturing or design defect. Other wise the only option I see is re-tap, but as you said that makes it a pain to change each page.
