Help! (please) Problems transaxle motor mount?
I have a front wheel drive Mazda MX-6, with a new engine (95) and a transaxle-old (93). It is the first time I've done this work and I'm afraid to crack the aluminum block! There are two pins that have to be aligned in their respective holes, but I'm getting a lot of resistance … the tolerances are very narrow and does not seem to be. I'm at 50 ft lbs of torque and the bell housing and engine are not yet metal to metal. I'm especially trying to get these 2 pins to the line first in parallel and keep everything. I have 1 or 2 mm to the left before the pins are fully inserted, but I will not add to the part of the block. Do I need to get a shaft and turn the gears a bit to match the splines? I did that. What I do? The tightening torque for the MX-6 is 50-70 ft lbs but I am very nervous because the pins are not seated, but with 50 pounds feet of torque. It is a manual transmission.
