How much time to build a standard 6 'privacy fence of wood (150 linear feet)?
I heard that this is difficult work well (at least dig holes – even with a drill). I have much free time. I am a hard worker with an average build, lilly white skin, a calluses on my hands a few, and some muscle and I have about 8 hours per week to dedicate to the task. Will I have a private life at the end of the year (six months or so)? For some reason I did my math wrong … my question was if I could have done in (6) 8 hours a week – no (6) months. It sounds as if it were possible. I'm never of seeking help, but I think you'll need for digging holes. I will also use screws instead of nails, so I'm pretty sure that adding a little good workload.
Some tips on building, invented by me for decades. 1. It's OK to make the posts a little less 8 'apart, but a little over 8' away. 2. If you get more senior positions, you can put a table of sacrifice in the bottom and the whole thing will last another decade more than you think. The bottom line is what rots first, and easily breaks when struck. Place a 2X 8/10/1912, which can afford at the bottom. Bevel on the top 30 * in the table saw, but leave a little edge to the tables for sitting. This will allow water to run to not penetrate and rot out. Also will be able to withstand the excavation some dogs will give it, or whip in a weedeater, lawn mower, etc. You can sculpt the settings to suit the land also, as among the rocks, or fallen on the floor. Use a jigsaw to cut. 3. An old solid wood door with a dome above it does incredible door. Dome protects from rain or snow. I found a great one in the trash in an office building. I did not know what to do with him when I have it, but it sure was good looking, when I hung up, and I have a lot of praise. I just used the highest positions flanking the door, so that the dome would be higher. It was a simple on gables 3 'wider than the door, and with the support of the media. 4. Dig a post hole a few days, after work and does not seem so difficult. Soak the soil to soften it first. If you do four holes a day, it will not take too long. Set the posts before going to bed. Then Saturday, you can build a section of the fence and feel they've accomplished something. For the second week, you're going to be a professional you will be able to excavate least 6 holes towards the end of the day, plus the fence will have to. If you start at the back, you can hide their mistakes with more ease, and then see its evolution from home. If you have a friend who can help for a day or two, renting the augur holes and do all you can in a day or two. Have all trademarks and first. Some rental places will let you have it for a price one day if you take it after noon on Saturday. That gives you 1 1 / 2 days to dig a lot of holes, but it is exhausting. If you have more friends, invite them to test their manly muscles and a few beers. Just remember to return the favor when they need help. Having a cookout when you're through, and invite the neighbors whose view you are blocking! Good fences make good neighbors, as our friend Robert Frost said.
